HLTH 1110 Social Health & Diversity
In this class, we were divided into groups of three or four and assigned a subordinant group (to which we did not belong) that we wanted to be allies for. We all were required to serve a minimum of ten hours for an agency that supported our assigned minority, and subsequently write a report with three relevant themes of oppression that were discussed in class. Myself and two of my classmates were allies for the sexual minority. This document is the personal reflection each student wrote concerning what our service was like and what we learned about the group we were allying for.
